A Meditation for Happiness & Self-Care.

Self-care comes in many shapes and sizes, but one simple and effective way to care for our mind and body is to tap into our “feel-good” chemicals, aka endorphins, that stimulate feelings of pleasure, well-being, and pain relief. When we get to this "happy place" our body is full of endorphins, meaning it's a little harder to drop into stress and negative feelings. So, come with me on a happiness and self-care meditation! All you need is a comfy seat!

Breathing Exercises to Reduce Stress.

Using the breath as a tool is a great natural option for reducing stress and anxiety. In this video, Brittni Barcase, Health Educator and 500-hour CYT, talks about thinking about the breath as a muscle that needs exercise and leads you through 3 breathing exercises to wake your diaphragm up and calm your central nervous system down, leaving you with less stress and a clearer mind.

Self-Care Tapping Exercise.

If you were to rub your hands together and then immediately hold them an inch apart, you would feel energy between your hands. Don't believe me? Give it a try!

Now imagine this same energetic feeling to be surrounding your body at all times. When we are feeling good, I mean like REALLY good— well rested, balanced diet and exercise, the energy that surrounds us is perfect and untarnished BUT, when we are out of balance, it can get all whacky and uneven. Tapping is a great way to smooth out the energy surrounding our bodies. It's quick, and pretty quirky, but it works! Give it a try and see how you feel!
